Several things changed for the 2025–26 season. The US Open moved to a proctored, in-person format. Gold and Platinum contestants who want a certified score must begin on Saturday at 12:00 ET, when the problems are released, within a start window of about 15 minutes. Platinum competitors were also reset to Gold at the start of the season.
For eligible US students, the top performers from the online contests are invited to the US Open, which is the main basis for selecting training-camp finalists. The pathway then continues to the training camp (May 21–30, 2026) and on to IOI (August 9–16, 2026, in Uzbekistan).
