This policy covers en.usaco.org.cn, the independent USA Computing Olympiad (USACO) guide and tutoring-inquiry site you are reading now. It does not cover usaco.org or any other website we link to — those are operated by other organizations under their own privacy policies. The policy applies however you browse, whether on a phone or a computer, and to any inquiry you send us through the channel described below.

Very little. There are no accounts, logins, or profiles to create on this site, so we never ask you to register or hand over personal details just to read a guide. The only personal information we hold is what you voluntarily send us when you contact us — alongside the routine technical logs that every website’s server keeps.

Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical data each time a page loads — for example an IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. These logs exist to keep the site secure and working; we do not use them to identify you personally.

If you start a conversation with us on WeChat — our inquiry channel — you may share things like your name, a student’s grade or current division, and the questions you want answered. We use that information only to reply and to advise you about USACO preparation. WeChat itself is operated by a third party under its own separate privacy terms.

This site is largely static and does not require you to log in, so it keeps cookies to a minimum. Any cookies that are set are limited to what keeps the pages working properly and, at most, anonymous aggregate visit counts. We do not use cookies to track you across other websites or to build advertising profiles.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings, and the guide will still work. Because we ask for no login, turning cookies off costs you nothing here.

We use the small amount of information described above for three purposes only: to answer your questions, to keep the site secure and running, and to understand in aggregate which guides are useful. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, and we do not share your inquiry with anyone outside the people who help answer it.

We keep inquiry messages only as long as needed to help you and, where relevant, to arrange tutoring; after that we delete them. Server logs are retained for a limited period by our host in the ordinary course of operating the site.

This guide links out to independent websites — most often usaco.org, the official USA Computing Olympiad site, plus references such as mitadmissions.org. Those sites are run by separate organizations and are governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We are not responsible for how they handle your data, so please review their policies when you visit them.

If you have a question about this policy, or you would like us to delete a message you sent us, reach out through our contact page — the same WeChat channel you would use for any tutoring inquiry. We will do our best to respond promptly.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page, and any material change will be described here. This policy is effective 15 July 2026.
